In this project tutorial, you'll learn everything you need to create UI transitions, use all of Unity's UI options, and make more complex systems.

Best Practices for Building UI in Unity.

Let's go ahead and check out ALL of Unity's UI options and add many interactions that will save your life whenever you're ready to create the UI for your game!

Project Outline

Session 1: Concepts and Installation checks

During this session, we'll be checking out how UI is supposed to be created for Mobile and PC. After which, we'll check some UI/UX examples and confirm the installations.

  • Session 1.1: Defining UI and UX for PC and Mobile games
  • Session 1.2: Checking UI and UX examples
  • Session 1.3: Confirming current Unity and Visual Studio installations

Session 2: Canvas, Cameras and Base Elements

During this session, we will focus on Canvases; multiple displays for cameras and canvases, and the basic elements of Unity UI. Coding will be included in every step to show examples of what's possible with each element.

  • Session 2.1: Canvas and Cameras
  • Session 2.2: Text and Image
  • Session 2.3: Button
  • Session 2.4: Input Fields

Session 3: Advanced UI Elements

During this session, we’ll implement some more advanced elements and add coding to make them functional.

  • Session 3.1: Scrollview
  • Session 3.2: Sliders
  • Session 3.3: Toggles and Toggle Groups
  • Session 3.4: Dropdown

Session 4: RenderTexture and More Tips

During this session, we will go through the Render Texture, which is technically in UI, but at the same time it's not. I'll also add some extra coding tips that you might find useful.

  • Session 4.1: Render Textures
  • Session 4.2: Drag and Drop basics

Session 5: Recap and Q&A

  • Visual Studio
